Mission Statement
The Livingston County Historical Society is an incorporated, non-profit
organization that preserves and celebrates the rich history of Livingston
County and its towns and villages through educational programs,
collections and displays of local artifacts and information.
Goal I: The Livingston County Historical Society will strive to be
financially stable.
- Objective I: Continue to interpret museum objectives and
accomplishments to the County Board of Supervisors to justify
continued financial support.
- Objective II: Encourage corporate support.
- Objective III: Grow the endowment fund.
- Objective IV: Actively solicit a growing individual and corporate
membership base.
- Objective V: Encourage bequests and memorial donations.
- Objective VI: Expand and improve the selection of income-
producing sales items.
- Objective VII: Seek and secure grant support.
Goal II: The Society will plan staffing to meet current and future needs
of the organization.
- Objective I: Expand the volunteer program.
- Objective II: Develop a working relationship with appropriate
academic departments at SUNY Geneseo.
- Objective III: Explore the possibility of part-time paid staff such as
an educational programmer, museum director or maintenance
person.
Goal III: The Society will continue to improve, renovate and expand its
facilities and exhibits.
- Objective I: Improve museum access for people with disabilities
to the extent possible in a historic structure.
